When Beacon need to be taken down for maintenance u3as will be warned with a Beacon Team message on the home page (login and scroll down). Where possible, the first Tuesday morning of the month will be a reserved for this. Generally there is minimal impact on the operation of Beacon.
Some maintenance involves enhancing the functionality of Beacon. The purpose of the section is to publish details of these enhancements when they have an impact on the user experience.
You may wish to 'follow' the section; to do this, click the 'follow' button and select 'New articles' from the dropdown. You'll then receive a notification by email each time a new service notification is published.

Clicking "Follow" simply changes it to "Unfollow", no drop-down is available. Ideally, it should be possible to request notification of updates to the notifications on specific reports. Notification of all updates is an acceptable second choice

@Stephen Shipley - Current members includes also those members whose renewal is due or overdue. In Beacon, members are considered 'Current' until they are lapsed (or set to an alternative non-current status) by an administrator
