The Beacon Help Centre provides support on all aspects of using Beacon. It replaces the Beacon User Guide and Training Documents, along with a number of new features.
It is slicker, more modern and a big step forward from the previous document-based approach. Many of the pages are connected by hyperlinks for ease of navigation.
Useful new features are the Recently viewed articles & Related articles lists that can be found at the bottom of every page and the Search facility which can be used to look for information on a specific topic.
There are currently 3 sections:
- Help (this section) covers the different options for getting help with using Beacon, including how to request support from the Ongoing Help Team as described in Open a Support Ticket
- The User Guide provides guidance on all aspects of using Beacon, including Getting Started, Membership, Groups, Emails, Finance and System Set-up.
- The Demo system: u3a's evaluating Beacon have a Demo system created for them that they can use to see how Beacon works and try it out using fictitious data. Live u3a's can request one for training System Users and to try out features.
