The Beacon Help Centre provides support on all aspects of using Beacon. It replaces the Beacon User Guide and Training Documents, along with a number of new features.
It is slicker, more modern and a big step forward from the previous document-based approach. Many of the pages are connected by hyperlinks for ease of navigation.
Useful new features are the Recently viewed articles & Related articles lists that can be found at the bottom of every page and the Search facility which can be used to look for information on a specific topic.
There are currently 4 sections:
- Help (this section) covers the different options for getting help with using Beacon, including how to request support from the Ongoing Help Team as described in Open a Support Ticket
- Using Beacon provides guidance on all aspects of using Beacon, including Getting Started, Membership, Groups, Emails, Finance and System Set-up.
- Knowledge Base is a new to Beacon concept - think of it as documenting all the conclusions from the Users Forum on guidance, best practice, suggested ways of working, hint and tips.
- The Demo system contains practice exercises that can be used in the Demotown demonstration system.
